RevoLaze Public Relations Challenge

Client Situation:

RevoLaze is a laser technology firm headquartered in Westlake, OH. RevoLaze was involved in a major patent infringement case of global significance. Its claim that several leading denim manufacturers were illegally using their patented technology made its way to the International Trade Commission (ITC). The ITC has decided to investigate the case. RevoLaze wanted the key facts of the story made public so that future business opportunities would not be compromised and a quick settlement acheived.

Tactics:

RevoLaze asked Stevens Strategic Communications to get positive editorial coverage in local, national and international business publications. SSC was able to land RevoLaze on the front cover of Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), the fashion industry’s leading publication. Several follow-up stories also appeared. On the local scene, Crain’s Cleveland Business closely followed the story and wrote several pieces about the investigation and its results. Over 4,263 media outlets picked up the story, generating approximately 303 million impressions.

Results:

The RevoLaze brand and image remained in a very positive light. Numerous new business opportunities resulted from the positive coverage in the press. A satisfactory settlement was accomplished.
